UNITED STATES SOCCER FEDERATION
The USSF is the national association having governing authority over Bay Area Youth Soccer Association and other associations excluding high school games. The USSF requires that referees of games under their jurisdiction be registered with the USSF. Registration with the USSF provides a $1,000,000 personal liability insurance policy for all games sanctioned by the USSF or one of its affiliated organizations. The current annual USSF registration fee is $25.00.
All USSF registration forms and questions concerning USSF registration are to be directed to the USSF area administrator.

SOUTHWEST SOCCER OFFICIALS ASSOCIATION
The SSOA provides soccer officials for all UIL sanctioned games in Texas. The Houston Chapter provides the officials for UIL high school games in the greater Houston - Galveston area. SSOA membership is required to officiate UIL soccer games. The SSOA is part of the Southwest Officials Association, which provides officials for most of the UIL sports. Neither SSOA nor UIL provide insurance coverage for officials.

NATIONAL FEDERATION INTERSCHOLASTIC OFFICIALS ASSOCIATION
The NFIOA provides its members with $1,000,000 personal liability insurance for all games played under the National Federation (i.e., UIL high school games).

NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF SPORTS OFFICIALS
The NASO is not associated with any soccer organization. It is an independent organization open to officials of all sports including soccer. The NASO provides liability insurance and accident insurance (medical and life) for all games that you work, including other sports.

BAYSA requires that all referees assigned to do BAYSA matches must be USSF-registered. All members of BASRA are encouraged to register or re-register with USSF.
USSF registration is also required to do matches for BASL, HFA, HWSA, TORSO, EDDOA, IAL, and STYSA-sponsored tournaments or playoffs.
SSOA registration is required to do high school (UIL) matches.
